Hi. I’m Matt. I’m a physics postdoc.

No last name?

I don’t want this blog to show up under the Google results for my real name. Not that I’m trying very hard to stay anonymous; I just don’t want every dumb take I’ve ever had to be easily discoverable.

If you’re still curious about me (why?), here’s the basic scoop: I grew up in a sparsely-populated state in the Mountain West, majored in physics and computer science at large public university, and then got a physics PhD. I’m currently a postdoc working on quantum field theory. I like coffee, maps, elections, functional programming, and 20th-century literary fiction.

Me. And maybe a couple other people if you count Substack.
